Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Permanent - (£50K - £60K) - Cheshire
Our client is a leading top tier COMAH regulated chemical manufacturer and they are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join their organisation on a permanent staff basis.
Roles & Responsibilities:
·Supervise mechanical maintenance activities working closely with production, engineering and EH&S to ensure that the business can manufacture safely at optimal cost and quality.
·Apply relevant Change Control principles and standards.
·To manage the maintenance function ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and to provide OEE improvements in support of the overall business plan.
·Active management of maintenance activities to maintain the basis of safety for processes on site and avoidance of major accidents.
·Delivering daily planned maintenance schedule in conjunction with production team through effective planning and prioritisation.
·Ensure completion of required Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe completion of work and adequate definition of job to allow accurate and relevant Permit Controls to be established on carrying out the job.
·Manage site contract personnel to ensure effective delivery of the mechanical maintenance service.
·Completion of work to required standards of fabrication and installation.
·Maintain site assets and operating equipment in line with regulatory requirements. This includes all necessary statutory inspection schedules, compliance and testing requirements in line with safety, environmental and corporate requirements.
·Actively promote SHE improvement to reduce risk and create positive awareness of safety culture.
·Assist with utilities management including; boilers, hot oil systems, air systems and cooling water systems.
·Manage the asbestos register on site. Manage the control of Legionella prevention activities.
Qualification & Experience:
·NVQ Level 3 Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
·NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
·Confined space permit signatory or equivalent.
·Experience in the upkeep of site utilities (boiler operation, cooling water, hot oil, compressed air).
·Lifting operations appointed person would be desirable.
·Working knowledge of Legionella regulations (Legionella Responsible Person - desirable).
·Working knowledge of asbestos regulations (BOHS P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings - desirable).
·Proven experience of maintenance leadership in the Chemical/Petrochemical/COMAH/highly regulated industry. Mechanical background preferred.
·Experience of maintenance of rotating equipment systems e.g. pumps, agitators and gearboxes.
·Minimum level 3 NVQ in Supervision/Leadership or equivalent.
·Experience in role of contractor management.
