An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Dietitian to join our team , covering a maternity leave for 12 months.
The Dietitian appointed would become a member of the Community Outreach Team based at Nottingham City Hospital Campus, which has around 20 staff supporting over 700 HEF patients, including children, in Nottinghamshire. The post-holder will join the Paediatric HEF team who have good links to the specialist teams at Nottingham Children's Hospital.
The Dietitian appointed will manage a varied HEF paediatric caseload (0-19yrs) and will visit community settings including patient's homes, schools, and respite centres; they will also work closely with Children's Community Nursing Teams to support children with complex needs at home. In addition we have the support of Specialist Children's Nurses at the Children's Hospital.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage their own time and workload within a supportive team. They should also be able to build good working relationships with the wider team within the community in order to provide joined-up care to patients. They will need to be able to carry out community visits across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Experience within paediatric dietetics is desirable however the successful applicant will be part of an experienced paediatric HEF team who will support development within this specialist area. Experience of nutrition support, including enteral feeding is essential, but support will be provided to gain experience with complex paediatric patients. Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has close links with Nottingham University and takes dietetic students for A, B and C placements.
NUH provides high-quality patient care across two campuses; Dietetic and Nutrition Services are based in the Clinical Support Division but work with patients and staff in most areas of the Trust and in the wider Nottinghamshire community. The applicant should be HCPC registered and is required to hold a full UK driving licence with access to their own transport.
