An independent boarding school for boys aged 13 to 18

Permanent, Part time: 20 hours per week, term time only plus 15 days during the holidays.

Days to be agreed but will include Tuesday and Thursday afternoons

Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 830 boys study at Harrow and live in the School's 12 boarding houses. Employees particularly value the School's beautiful green estate, the positive working environment, and good relationships with their colleagues.

An opportunity has arisen for a US Universities Advisor to support teaching staff in the universities process and offer guidance to the boys as they plan and prepare their university applications. They will prepare boys for interviews, liaise with US universities and support universities-related events. They will also produce guidance materials, assist with letters of recommendation and disseminate applications information to boys.

This role will suit someone who has been educated to degree level, has worked within an educational establishment, and has demonstrable knowledge of the US college admission system. They will enjoy interacting with boys, parents and teachers as well as generating well-crafted written materials to provide a knowledgeable, professional and supportive service. They will appreciate working within a friendly team, surrounded by a variety of interesting and historic buildings, and being part of the life of our vibrant School.

Please note that applicants must hold the right to work in the UK as this is not a Tier 2 sponsored role.

Benefits include automatic enrolment in the School's pension scheme, use of the School's sports facilities and subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.

Please apply directly through our School website. It is paramount that you complete the online application form in its entirety and fill in all personal and work details with all information provided as we do not shortlist from CVs and any incomplete applications will not be shortlisted.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All successful applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Harrow School is an equal opportunities employer.
