Morgan Hunt are delighted to partner with this Outstanding (Oftsed graded) College to recruit a trainer within the Creative & Digital Industry Department

Summary of the Post

To work with Course Leader or manager and deliver on appropriate range of courses to learners using relevant teaching methodologies.

Main Duties
  • Plan and prepare teaching in accordance with the curriculum needs of the College
  • Prepare teaching materials as required and as directed by a Course Leader or manager
  • Select appropriate materials from the range available
  • Assess work within their programmes in order to support student progress
    Utilise methods and styles of support consistent with programme aims and learner's personal goals
  • Provide cover in the absence of a colleague (where work has been set for the learners)
  • Monitor individual learning plans for learners and contribute to their updating
  • Apply appropriate teaching and learning strategies which take account of individual learner needs
  • Carry out initial assessment of learners to inform planning
  • Promote good working relations to foster learning
  • Establish and maintain a learning environment that is appropriate to the learner groups


  • Level 3 qualification in the relevant subject area.
  • Level 4 teaching qualification e.g. CTLLS (or willingness to achieve within a specified timescale)
  • A recognised assessor qualification
  • Level 2/GCSE maths and English qualifications (C or above)
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in teaching and or digital industry
  • DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one
  • Possess good knowledge of the relevant industry areas
  • Possess good technical knowledge and skills in; Object Orientated Programming (OOP) language (preferably Python), Networking Basics, Cyber Security, Cloud Platforms, Data Structure and Algorithms, Legislation around Computing, Data Systems / Management
  • Motivation to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Emotional resilience with challenging behaviours

  • Level 5 Teaching qualification
  • Assessor awards (D32/33 or A1/2)
  • Previous teaching experience of computer science at L3/4
  • Practical demonstration skills in technical areas
  • Good knowledge of a range of digital software
