Applications Developer

£45,000 per annum

My Client a large UK company is looking to recruit an experienced Applications Developer to come and join their expanding function on a permanent basis.

In terms of the finer details, the primary purpose is to apply software design and development skills for new build, enhancement / maintenance and the operational support of a broad range of Internal and Customer-facing applications. You will be working within a small team that specialises in the integration of front and back end applications.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors simple through to complex software programs/scripts.
  • Supports and influences other areas of the development lifecycle before and after the development phase (e.g. requirements shaping, planning, test phases and transition into service)
  • Contributes to integration and build activities, including release instructions for Testing and Production environments and change management submissions
  • Influences and contributes to decisions on standards, tooling and ways of working that reduce cost, and improve speed to market (flow and efficiency)

The ideal Applications Developer will be able to offer the following:
  • Experience of software development with awareness of object or service-oriented development
  • Ability to maintain / support existing applications along with new build
  • Ideally you will have experience in technology areas that includes: CSS / Bootstrap / exposure to both AWS and Azure, SQL Server, Document DB (CosmosDB / MongoDB)
  • Software development techniques and principals using a high-level programming language e.g. C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML
