Applications are invited to join a dynamic team of Substantive Gastroenterologists in a high performing NHS trust in the East of England (1 hr from London).
Candidates are expected to have a broad based gastroenterology and endoscopy background, with subspecialist skills.

The trust will support candidates not yet on the specialist register with a well-established CESR programme, including (but not exclusive to) 1-1 support, opportunities for shadowing and cross-departmental work, and opportunity to attain outstanding competencies in Gastroenterology.Nature of work:
The appointee will work closely with the existing gastroenterologists in providing the full range of inpatient and outpatient hepatology services, including diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients. He/she will be highly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.Hepatology:
Inpatient provision of gastroenterology and hepatology services occurs predominantly on one ward. Inpatients are triaged via the acute assessment unit to the appropriate speciality and care is needs based rather than age based.Endoscopy:
The endoscopy unit has undergone considerable transformation in recent years and has held JAG accreditation since 2009.
The department provides an excellent, modern, patient centred experience. JAG described the unit as providing an outstanding, outward facing endoscopy service for the community.
The Hospital is a Level 2 liver centre. And has close links with the regional hepatology centre where our patients can be referred for liver transplantation, access the liver tumour MDT and as necessary for acute severe / complex disease. Local area:

- UK candidates - GMC registration (within 6 months of CESR/CCT or holding specialist regostration)
- EEA candidates - specialist diploma in Gastroenterology
- Non-EEA candidates - MRCP (UK)
