Craneware is looking for full stack engineers that are excited about working with Big Data technology to drive improvements in the US-based healthcare market. We are growing a team of strong thinkers and innovators that are willing to work closely with product and customer-facing teams to design and develop new applications in the Cloud.

We are expanding our current platform and SaaS product offerings by using cutting edge technology to process very large data sets that will provide actionable insights for our customers. Architecting our solutions with a best of breed approach to technology, both .NET and Java-based platforms are leveraged in order to provide the necessary scale and rapidly bring products to market. Innovative, collaborative and agile are critical skills that our engineering team members must possess in our environment.

We are looking for a senior engineer with proven ability to successfully manage a high performing team, whilst remaining hands on technically. We are at a stage in our evolution where we are now looking at transforming our core product line to future proof our presence in the US healthcare market by evolving our product line onto our Trisus Platform (Microsoft Azure). The successful candidate will need to be comfortable upskilling and working with a wide variety of tools and technologies (e.g. Delphi, C#) as required, in order to support the team in meeting our goals.

Tech Stack: C# (Asp .Net +Web API) and/or Java, Angular 2 or above, Azure, Delphi, SQL Server, ElasticSearch, NoSQL, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka

You'll be:
  • Working within an Agile delivery team to contribute to the design and development of software releases using the Craneware Application Lifecycle Management (CALM) methodology
  • Responsible for the Delivery Team designing well architected, maintainable solutions using appropriate design principles for example design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Providing direct line management and leadership for a single multi-disciplinary Delivery Team, with accountability for Software Engineers, QA and Automation
  • Building and maintaining a development plan for upskilling existing multi-disciplinary team members and new recruits
  • Prioritizing workload and coaching team to ensure they deliver commitments whilst maintaining customer satisfaction and adherence to SLAs
  • Providing reporting and metrics to Software Manager that act as information radiators for project progress, bottlenecks and blockers
  • Assisting Software Manager with hiring processes and new team member training
  • Managing training and development information and be responsible for all their Delivery Team's content on the Craneware Wiki
  • Teaching and mentoring less experienced team members with regard to engineering practices and principles to create resource that will enhance the Delivery Team effort
  • Ensuring production of high-quality deliverables that are scalable and performant through the use of automated tools
  • Working with Agile delivery teams to ensure development, automation and QA goals, objectives, and expectations are effectively met
  • Defining and providing statistics to measure team performance, quality and success
  • Working with Team Leads and Software Managers to ensure adherence to engineering standards across the multidisciplinary team
  • Driving the design, maintenance and execution of automated testing of API and Web Service test data and web products on multiple platforms and devices ensuring consistency and sufficient test coverage

  • Proven experience of managing fast-paced small teams that follow agile methodologies
  • Proven track record in designing and building quality software solutions
  • Ability to define and implement plans for driving, improving and maintaining engineering practices
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in at least one core area of software engineering, with a basic awareness of additional core areas
  • An in-depth understanding of automated testing methods and their application
  • Working knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g. TFS or Jira)
  • Experience in one or more database technologies (e.g. SQL, non-relational) including data modelling and performance
  • An in-depth understanding of software principles for example SOLID principles and design patterns and how to apply them
  • Ability to analyse and solve technical problems
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to target audience
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members
  • Proven experience in mentoring less experienced team members
  • Proven understanding of the use of source control
  • Good understanding of software architecture
  • Awareness of release management processes and tools
