Curriculum Area Manager for Access & Community, St Austell, £35,000, Closing Date Sunday 20th September 2020, Hours per week: 37. Weeks per year: 52.

If you are an exceptional Curriculum Area Manager, you should consider a move to an exciting forward-thinking college, in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, to become a key member of staff within our successful Access & Community department in Cornwall.

Based at St Austell, you will be accountable for the performance and quality of your Curriculum Area including attendance, retention, achievement and learner experience within budget. To be responsible for all quality assurance systems including those carried out by internal bodies and external organisations.

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead on the development and delivery of inspiring, responsive and innovative Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA). To contribute to College Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy ensuring the development of TLA in order to improve its consistency and quality.

The successful candidate will develop an exciting curriculum which equips learners with the real world skills, knowledge and aptitudes to give them competitive advantage in their future career. To be clear on the intent of your area and ensure that you design curriculum to mete your intent.

Applicants must have:

  • Proven track record of successful leadership of curriculum in Further Education
  • Experience of designing engaging, ambitious and inclusive curriculum
  • Experience of ensuring delivery and assessment across your curriculum area are diverse and learner centric.
  • Experience of leading a diverse team using a range of management styles to drive excellence.
  • Up to date knowledge of funding and curriculum standards.
  • Knowledge and relevant experience of working in engineering and recent CPD within relevant industries
  • Level 5 qualification in relevant subject
  • Full teaching qualification
  • Level 2 or above in English and Maths
