As a Supply Teacher working in a Secondary School, you will be able to cover lessons suited to your curriculum strength as well as covering all other lessons across the school where required, supervising students in lessons, whilst delivering pre-planned work left by the teacher.
You'll need to be able to manage pupil behaviour whilst in the classroom and also be familiar with the schools policies and procedures to be able to deal with any immediate problems that arise.
For long term supply work, you may be required to plan, mark and assess student work.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you must be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status, Veritas welcomes experienced teachers as well as NQT's. You'll need to complete our compliance process whilst also being professional and have a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. You must hold a DBS on the update service (Veritas can assist you with this application if a new DBS is required) and we must be able to gain relevant education based references.
