Job Description Communities and Families Pupil Support Assistant - fixed term until 25 June 2021 Greengables Nursery School Salary: £16,775 - £18,860 (Pro-rata for part time and sessional 39 weeks) plus living wage allowance if applicable Hours: 16 per week, 39 weeks per year We are looking for a Pupil Support Assistant to join the Greengables Nursery School team. Greengables Nursery offers our children 1140 hours of free Early Learning and Childcare over 38 weeks of the year, and children currently attend, from 9am until 3pm. Greengables is situated in an area of positive action and the team is dedicated to improving the life chances of our children and families. The ethos of the nursery is based on Froebelian principles and we spend a significant part of our day outside in our wonderful natural garden. Experience of working with children is essential. As this role will be providing 1:1 support, experience of working with children with additional needs is desirable. For more information about the school, please call 0131 669 9083. The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £9.34 per hour. Successful applicants will be paid the hourly rate as advertised, plus the allowance, in order to bring their earnings to £9.34 per hour. The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
