We are looking for an experienced Haas CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our small workshop in Dorset. We have a team of 4 staff and a plant list of 3 Haas Mills, 2 Haas Lathes and manual machines. Our business produces a wide range of components from metals and plastics, including robot spares and parts, food industry manufacturing items, bespoke designer furniture, automotive parts and miniature machined components.

Required Experience
  • 4 years as a CNC Machinist Programmer
  • Programming and setting a 3 axis Haas CNC machine
  • Familiarity of Haas machines
  • Desirable: programming and setting a 4 and 5 axis CNC machine
  • Manufacturing small batches to tight tolerances


Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and milling with ONE CNC CAD/CAM
  • To understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading engineers drawings
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machine can perform the correct function
  • Supervise the machines while it executes the task and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Ensure that the machining quality is to expected standards by monitoring the quality of cut and inspecting components before dispatch
  • Confident to report any issues or concerns regarding material quality or machining accuracy
  • Operating in a responsible, safety-aware manner in the workshop


Skills

  • Experience in programming, setting and operating 3 Axis CNC
  • Experience using ONE CNC CAD/CAM
  • Taking designs from CAD drawings through to expertly produced parts
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of machine tooling and machining strategies
  • Ability to work closely with a small team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management - able to manage workload on multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work to deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work with minimal supervision
