JOB TITLE: Lecturer Early Years Health and Care
CONTRACT: Permanent, full time 35 hours per week

To provide assistance to the Head of Department/Curriculum Academic Manager in the delivery of courses
·To teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Curriculum Area Manager or team leader- predominantly Level 3 and Level 2 Early Years with some cross over into Health and Social Care where the business need takes us subject to discussion and based on skills.
·To produce and implement Schemes of Work and lesson planning and where appropriate, course syllabus.
·To assist the Curriculum Area Manager or team leader with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified.
·To take some course leadership responsibilities including student and course performance data and monitoring
·To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance during all assigned classes.
·To participate in Course Committee activities.
·To direct students actively towards safe industrial working practices where appropriate.
·To participate actively in the enrolment, monitoring, profiling and assessment of students or trainees.
·To participate in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers.
·Provide individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
·Supervision and management of students on placements in conjunction with assessors and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
·Act as academic and pastoral tutor to students.
·To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
·To undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
·Undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check for this post.
·Commit to the College child protection policy and promote a safe environment for children and young people learning within the College.Be alert to any indication or allegation of abuse and take appropriate action under the College procedures for the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

·Support the College management in all health and safety matters and take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.

·Depending on your role you may be responsible for or required to contribute to ensuring that the Information Governance Framework is operational at departmental level and ensure the maintenance of the department Data Audit (Register of Processing) to ensure it correctly reflects the departmental data processing activities, carry out and/or contribute as required to Data Protection Impact Assessments, Data Breach and Complaint investigations, Data Subject Access Requests and contribute to internal audits to ensure continual improvement.
