Title: Site Manager
Reports to: Site Management Team Leader
Context: Vanderlande is the global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports, and sorting systems for parcel and postal services. Working within projects, the Site Manager will be responsible for the management & delivery of all Installation activities and equipment to schedule through the Vanderlande site supervision structure. Reporting progress/gap and countermeasures to the Project Manager, coordinating with all interfacing subcontractors, the client and PC representatives.
Management of the site supervisors to achieve, installation of mechanical & electro-mechanical equipment including: scheduling, quality, cost, problem resolution, and decision making, logistics planning and resource scheduling. Taking a leading role in onsite safety ensuring all installation works are compliant to the relevant processes.
Build Reputation with Customers
Liaising with the client on benchmarking, quality and testing assurance for installation.
Focal point for driving snagging resolution and preparation for CE marking assessment
Drive to Win
Ownership of achievement to plan, understanding any gaps central to the resolution method.
Reporting to Project Manager on status.
Control of subcontractor plan vs actual hours and gauging cost of overtime vs need to recover schedule in the most efficient manner.
Interaction & coordination between equipment installation & other works including liaison with the PC function to achieve seamless and safe installation to plan.
Managing the site supervisors as a team and as individuals, empowering them to take ownership and developing their skills

Driving an incident & injury free culture and ensuring the project teams and subcontractors understand and implement good safety practice during the site delivery phases of the project.
Ensuring site walks and audits take place for safety and quality and resulting findings are closed responsibly.
Ensuring delivery, safety and quality are the prime focus of site supervisors.
Significant experience in project installation both mechanical and electro mechanical.
Managing a multi-functional team, interfacing with clients and chairing meetings. Adept at conflict resolution
Awareness of CDM regulations
SMSTS preferred although training can be provided
Capable of reading engineering drawings, specs, layouts and interpretation of master project plans into phasing and time slices
Very computer literate, capable of using MS outlook and office suite (MS project would be useful).
Able to collate data and generate the present reports.
MUST be comfortable working away Monday to Friday with some Weekend Working
Willing to work abroad - predominantly Europe (By agreement)
Preferred qualifications (electrical & safety)
Time served apprenticeship and experience within the appropriate industry, 17th and 18th Editions
SMSTS, IOSH managing safely certifications, First Aid
CSCS Card, Fork Lift Truck, MEWP, Slinger / Signaller, Tower Scaffold
