A provision based in Loughborough are looking to appoint two learning mentors for immediate starts to support hard to reach students who have been excluded from mainstream education access learning and engage in an environment that suits there needs.
The role will be varied due to the fluctuating needs of the provision and students in your care but in part, will involve 1:1 dedicated tutoring; helping students catch up on learning lost. In addition, this role will involve linking with education providers in the local area and supporting students to access vocational training courses as and where needed for skills based learning.
The positions are ideal for people that have worked with behaviorally challenging students previously and have a natural ability to create and build rapport with young people. You will need to be resilient and have the ability to deliver clear expectations for the purpose of progressing the learning of students in your care.
Full UK Driving license (this role will involve traveling)
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year experience in education either paid or as a volunteer supporting vulnerable and hard to reach students. (evidenced by CV)
Have a current (or be willing to obtain) an up to date safeguarding certificate in line with statutory regulations (KCSIE)
Be able to provide two reference from previous employment (1 of which must be most recent)
Team Teach/MAPPA/ NAPPI training would be advantageous but not essential
Educated to Degree level - (Sports, Psychology, English, Maths, Science are desirable but not essential )
Dependent on prior experience the roles will pay between £12,000 - £15,000 per annum
