A new opportunity has arisen in a Darwen-based primary school for a Level 2 Specialist Support Assistant experienced in supporting individuals with SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviour.
You will be appointed on a full-time, temporary basis (with the potential of a permanent contract after a successful period of probation). The position is to provide one-to-one support to a child in Year 5, starting from 2nd November 2020.
The SENCo has specified that the successful candidate will have a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and recent experience of working alongside individuals with SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviour. A qualification in TEAM TEACH is essential.
The school is a larger than average-sized primary school located in Darwen. The large majority of pupils who attend the school speak English as an additional language. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is in-line with the national average, as is the proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and or/ disabilities.
Pupils with SEN are well supported and make good progress. Pupils are eager to learn.
