The role will involve:
• You will be responsible for the overall management of the engineering department
• Full budgetary responsibility
• Managing all engineering, stores, and cleaning staff; ensure staff levels meet targets and budget
• Recruitment of suitably qualified engineering staff
• Absence and performance management
• Directly responsible for an effective and efficient garage engineering operation in line with company targets including fleet management; availability/reliability; record maintenance and managing contracts
• Ensuring all premises, vehicles and garage staff adhere to the Health and Safety standards required by the Company and legislation
• Ensuring financial budgets and targets are met and improved on

• Experience in strategic and commercial engineering management for more than 12 months
• NVQ level 3 as a minimum within an engineering related study
• Capable of demonstrating first time diagnosis and repair
• Experience in bus or related automotive industry
• High level of commercial awareness (focus on operational costs and efficiencies)
• Understanding of an Oracle or similar operational data system where the data is used daily to improve performance and maintain cost levels in line with budget
