Excellent opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant to join a £50 million sports & fitness nutrition brand leader. This role is a great opportunity to expand and grow within an exciting and evolving business.

Who we are:

We are on an incredible journey, with a mission to move the business from a manufacturing-led retailer to a destination brand for active nutrition. We're also levelling up our operations – with a 60,000 square foot warehouse and manufacturing facility based in Colchester, Essex and a 100,000 square foot distribution centre in Wroclaw, Poland.

With ambitious plans we've grown our topline around 40% per annum over the past three years. We've recently appointed a new Chief Finance Officer and we're looking to level up our Finance function too.

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to be an integral part of the Finance team, focusing on process improvements, monthly reporting and budget to actual variance analysis. Working closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen and drive improvements to the management financial reporting and general ledger controls. You will play an important part in building a Management Accounts arm of the Finance function working with key stakeholders across the business.

What will you be doing?

Management Accounts & Reporting:

+ Review and process monthly accruals, prepayments and provisions
+ Maintain and update the fixed asset register on a monthly basis
+ Ensure company margins are monitored and accurately reported on a monthly basis
+ Provide monthly balance sheet analysis including cash, inventory, monthly provisions
+ Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts for senior stakeholders
+ Lead monthly actual vs budget variance meetings with key internal stakeholders
+ Ownership of the month end timetable ensuring all departments meet the required deadlines
+ Adapt and grow management information reports as required by the business

Accounting & Control:

+ Full ownership of the General ledger for the UK branch including accuracy and completeness
+ Identify and maintain controls relating to the general ledger, ensuring accounting policies and classifications are in line with FRS 102
+ Support the wider business with in year spend and cost classification
+ Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation of the year end accounts and audit processes

What are we looking for?

+ 2+ years’ experience in a Management Accountant role
+ ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
+ Advanced in Excel working with large data sets
+ Analytically minded with an eye for detail
+ Highly organised with the ability to work to tight and pressured timelines
+ Strong work ethic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ An interest and affinity in sports, nutrition, health & wellbeing.
