A 'Good' three-form entry primary school based in Hanwell are looking for a SEND teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Downs Syndrome.
The ideal SEND teaching assistant will be a creative specialist who has a passion for working with SEND pupils and has demonstrable experience of working with pupils with Downs Syndrome. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to create an EHCP for the pupil, focusing on key areas of development in line with the national curriculum. You will support the pupil with basic phonics, literacy and numeracy in line with their development goals. The successful SEND teaching assistant will have high expectations for the pupil's learning and behaviour and will assist with the pupil's integration and participation within the classroom. Ideally you will also have experience with Makaton.
This is a full-time role to start ASAP and continue on for the rest of the academic year. Please apply today!
- Experience with SEN and Down Syndrome

-Experience in mentoring, teaching, carer for those who have challenging behaviour or complex learning difficulties.
-Be able to provide a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
-Be able to provide 2 references from most recent employers.
