Workplace Assessor/Trainer - Hairdressing

College location: John Ruskin College (Croydon)

Salary: Competitive (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Part-Time (2- 3 days a week) or a self-employed contract may also be considered

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Workplace Assessor/Trainer to join our friendly and hardworking Hairdressing department at John Ruskin College.

In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to support and tutor our Apprentices in the workplace, and help them to develop their skills across the Hairdressing provision at levels 2-3 which leads to the end point assessment.

Your duties will include; conducting practical assessments, monitoring and tracking progress, training, assessing and delivering the underpinning knowledge requirements of the qualification within the workplace and specifically tutoring students to ensure they gain the best possible outcome.

A key function of this role is to build strong relationships with those in the Hairdressing industry on behalf of the College, therefore previous experience working in quality assurance and/or IV-ing within this subject would be highly beneficial.

The successful candidate must have:

* A level 3 subject qualification in Hairdressing

* Experience in hairdressing in industry as i.e Stylist, Salon owner

* Experience and knowledge of assessing apprentices qualifications

* A teaching qualification and previous Hairdressing teaching experience would be advantageous

* Experience carrying out reviews and completing mandatory meetings in the workplace/meeting with employers

* Previous experience developing relationships with employers to develop business needs and growth

* Experience carrying out reviews and completing mandatory meetings in the workplace/meeting with employers

You will have a passion for high standards, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good time management and proven experience of providing outstanding support for learners.
