Protocol Education are currently looking to recruit outstanding classroom support and inclusion staff with a strong background in supporting individuals diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Condition for day to day and long term work within a SEND school in Leeds.
The school provides a structured and supportive environment to help meet the personal and academic needs of pupils at each stage of their schooling. We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled individuals dedicated to making a real difference to young people lives and who have the skills required to ensure autistic learners can resume education in a safe and supportive manner.
The school offers a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to boys and girls, aged 4-19 years who are autistic and may well have other complex needs, including Social, Emotional, Mental Health and behavioural needs. As such, our ideal candidate should be flexible, adaptable, a good communicator, have a cheerful disposition and respond calmly under pressure. Some knowledge of communication aids such as Makaton and PECS would be ideal.
The successful candidates will have a varied role, which involves supporting teachers to ensure that pupils receive the most effective, person-centred support. You will be able to demonstrate a practical, hands on approach and be prepared to go above and beyond. Due to the current social distancing measures, applicants with Team Teach training would be preferred, although applicants with an in depth knowledge of learning difficulties and supporting autistic individuals will be considered.
Protocol Education adheres to the following from its Support Workers;
• A DBS certificate with a live subscription to the update service or be willing to get one.
• Two professional references within the last three years.
• Someone who is committed to the safeguarding of young people.
