Operia is representing a world-renowned and the UK's leading independent provider of mental health care services to search for and headhunt a Charge Nurse to join their team at a locked rehabilitation and recovery service that offers females who have a primary diagnosis of psychosis and/or affective disorders, support to develop confidence, skills, and independence whilst managing their mental health symptoms, in order to achieve a life worth living in the community or the least restrictive alternative.
The Charge Nurse must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, and forms part of the ward management team, reporting directly into the Ward Manager. They act as a clinical supervisor and ensures the highest level of patient care is provided to all patients.
The Charge Nurse plays a key role in supporting the Ward Manager to ensure compliance with audit requirements and will lead the implementation of innovation. The successful candidate will:
- Ensure compliance with legislative and professional standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and ensure effective use of resources within set budgets.
- Operate effectively as a team member and promote effective decision making.
- Act as mentor/preceptor and ensure the development of student nurses and other team members.
- Assess staff nurses within the competency development programme.
