Maintenance Engineer/ Electrical Mechanical Engineer Required for a Full time Permanent contract.

Our well-established client based in Smarden; Kent is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to start work immediately on a full time/permanent contact.

Working hours are:

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30

This job will involve:

Maintaining the serviceability and operational readiness of the electricity, water and hot oil supplies for the machinery, mixing blending plant and machinery, process the plant and machinery, water tankers and building supplies as well as particulate and fume containment, arrestment and filtering equipment together with the associated monitoring hardware.

You will be responsible for spares, parts and consumables by maintaining adequate stock levels of frequently used parts and spares as agreed with by line manager as well as consumable items such as insulation, gland packing, heat transfer oil, lubricants etc.

All work undertaken by contractors onsite will need to be monitored to make sure that they are carrying out their duties safely and to the required standards, you will also be responsible for issuing Permits to Work for any contractors or personnel brought onto site to work. This is also involving the responsibility of hire and company tools and ensuring these items are kept safe and secure, maintained in the safe and appropriate condition, and to ensure that these are not loaned or used by other personnel expect for those who have been trained and judged competent to do so.

You will be responsible for making sure that the Quality Assurance routine maintenance procedures are carried out.

Health and safety duties include:

Making sure that all machinery and machine safe guards are fitted and serviced regularly, ensure that all fire safety equipment including; fire extinguishers, alarms and emergency lighting are maintained and fully serviced. Report any breaches of health and safety to superior and make sure that any remedial actions are implemented when appropriate, and to make sure that the workshop areas are kept clean and tidy and a safe place to work in.

This position will involve being available for callout out of hours and ensuring that cover has been arranged during holidays or other non-available periods.

The ideal candidate:

Our client is seeking someone who is experienced within maintenance/ electrical mechanical engineering and have good knowledge of lathes and milling machines.

Proof of up to date certification and relevant qualifications.

Own transport is ideal due to the location of the business

For this position our client is offering an annual salary of between £35,000 to £40,000 DOE and qualifications
