Government Affairs Manager - London - 9 months contract

Our client are partnering with us to hire a Government Affairs Manager to join the corporate affairs team to shape the external policy environment across the UK. The position is offered on a 9 month contract to cover a maternity leave.

You will be leading the strategy and objectives relating to an exciting and varied product line across ophthalmology and gene therapy oncology products.

The main responsibilities of this position include:
*Identify and interpret challenges and opportunities for designated priority brands within government and NHS policy, judging when and whether government affairs activity would add value to the brands
*Work with external partners such as think tanks, industry groups and other third parties to develop evidence and policy collateral (reports, audits, surveys, etc) that supports priority brands
*Act as lead on the UK-wide government affairs strategy working closely with the devolved nations Government Affairs managers to ensure differences and synergies between the four nations are reflected appropriately
*Co-ordinate engagement with the ABPI
*Provide support with written and oral briefings as needed for senior management engagement with ABPI and EMG
*Map, prioritise and track engagement with political, national-level NHS England, industry and third party stakeholders as relevant to each project
*Manage the public affairs agency and budgets allocated to projects

The successful Applicant will possess the following skills or attributes:

Experience in Healthcare policy and public affairs within a pharmaceutical organisation
Excellent understanding of NHS policy and structures and NICE
Strong networker who can develop trustful relationships
University degree
