Scientific Marketing Manager - Scientific Research Organisation
Home based (with travel to Derbyshire)
Salary up to £35,000, plus 25 days annual leave, BUPA and dental cover, discretionary bonus, and fully remote set up

Compass Life Sciences are partnering with a leading research organisation that provides drug discovery, development, and analytical science solutions to the life sciences sector to support the search for a talented science focused Marketing Manager. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a passionate marketeer that brings a scientific background to support the development of new and existing relationships.

With over 450 people supporting a global client base across 7 state of the art laboratory sites, our client have established a proven track record and reputation for providing high quality science led solutions across the life sciences industry.

The Role
Working with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, the Marketing Manager will support growth of the business by having responsibility for the communication plans to target lead generation and new opportunities across all divisions. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, you will join a team that is responsible for planning and executing all types of marketing campaigns and insights into their ROI linked to the strategic sales and marketing plans. Our client are looking for someone that is able to translate technical scientific content into engaging media and content.

As part of this role you can expect to be accountable for a wide range of activities and initiatives, including;

The set up and management of the communication plan
Implementation of KPIs to achieve the objectives and manage the ROI
Build brand awareness by reinforcing and building upon the company's strong reputation within the industry
Create campaigns and content, as well as engaging media for social media posts
Oversee development and execution of high quality engagements such as webinars, landing pages for SEIO, and business templates for use in tools such as Pardot (an understanding of HTML would be useful for this)
Liaise with Business Development/sales teams/ service Leaders as well as scientific and technical staff, to implement effective marketing campaigns using different channels and supports
Plan and coordinate event organization
Monitoring and reporting on effectiveness of marketing communications.
Identify opportunities for marketing campaigns that can lead to an increase in sales, and ensure the company is building a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities
Working closely with 3rd party agencies e.g. PR, branding/design and print agencies
Overseeing preparation and publication of a wide range of online and print marketing material in line with marketing communication plan.
Maintaining effective internal communications to ensure all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing communication, leads, opportunities and revenue generated

Key Requirements
To be considered for this role, our client is looking for a scientist at heart; someone who is able to understand the science behind our client's service, and translate this into engaging and effective marketing content and strategies. As such you will need to be able to demonstrate the following;

MSc or BSc in Biology, Biotechnology, or similar
Experience within Marketing function in a similar position
High level of experience in marketing communication within the pharma, Agro Chemical, Food and cosmetics industries. Specific focus in CRO and CDMO market
Scientific and business copywriting
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), Social Media (LinkedIn, Twitter), Website CMS (WordPress), Microsoft (Word, Excel, Office365)
Experience of CRM marketing e.g. Sales Force
Ability to work autonomously
Confident personality
Able to anticipate and evaluate the impact on results and versus planned objectives
Have the ability to work within a dynamic, entrepreneurial and fast-evolving environment.
Excellent communication skills
