Credit Manager

Based: East Lancashire

Salary: highly dependent on experience - excellent, growing business

Our client is a large, growing business based in East Lancashire. They are looking for a strong Credit Manager to work as part of their large finance team on a 6 month contract basis. Role will be leading and motivating a team of Credit Controllers to achieve daily ad monthly targets.

Role:
  • Maintain and encourage good customer relations at all levels through personal contact
  • Ensure company credit control policy is executed at all times
  • Ensure team are hitting targets using initiative and flexibility to achieve these
  • Identify accounts which require special attention and act decisively to resolve disputes /cash flow, including visiting customers' premises as necessary.
  • Responsible for the smooth flow of orders released for dispatch to warehouse
  • Informing sales managers and or customers if any problem with release of order
  • Ensure that all invoices, credits and statements are transmitted to each customer
  • Ensure that support and coaching is provided for all team members on a daily basis to maintain and improve the overall performance and monitor the performance of each member of the credit control department and ensure regular training and development of all members is maintained
  • Reporting measurements of performance and stats to Senior Finance
  • To Identify accounts which require special attention and act decisively to resolve difficulties consulting management where appropriate
  • Set individual targets for each member in the team
  • Liaise with other departments regularly to resolve issues that impact on debt collection
  • Continue to improve processes and system issues
  • Administer the company's disciplinary and grievance policy as necessary
  • Manage attendance and time keeping for all staff
  • Conduct return to work interviews with staff

Experience:
  • Strong Credit Management experience, supporting a large team
  • Driven, enthusiastic and able to motivate/inspire a team to continuously hit targets
  • SAP experience is essential (ideally post-implementation)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Commercially aware and able to hit the ground running
