International Consultancy in Manchester requires an Associate Director - Traffic/Transport to lead an established design team in the city centre.
With an established track record of successfully delivering both major and minor schemes, for national bodies including, Highways England and county council frameworks. They are looking to develop and grow this team further, through the appointment of a key, enthusiastic and driven, individual, with good leadership qualities and a strong technical background, who will be responsible for the delivery of highway projects to programme and budget, using innovation to improve performance, leading and coordinating input from multi-disciplinary teams, developing schemes through to construction and beyond.
You will identify, seek, and secure new commissions to maintain revenue streams for other cross-service delivery teams. You will over-see bidding processes, ensuring favourable commercial arrangements are in place, and ensure that proposals are prepared and submitted in a timely manner. You will maintain framework service delivery, taking ownership of existing management systems and governance arrangements. You will also lead and manage the delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering, transport planning and highways design projects, building project teams and ensuring delivery against agreed programme, budget, and quality requirements.
You will be responsible for securing new work to meet growth aspirations and prepare robust proposals and fee estimates in response to requests from clients.
A bit about the role:
Responsible for the professional and financial performance of multi-disciplinary teams working on a long-term framework contract.
Overseeing and assisting in the preparation of brief responses, bids, proposals and estimates for new work.
Seek to achieve organic growth on existing contracts/relationships.
Ensure that the quality and delivery timescale of projects are managed and delivered to customers requirements.
Identify and agree resources demand for current and new projects.
Provide technical direction, advice, and support to the team to resolve problems and enhance business/project performance
Ensure that Health & Safety requirements/obligations are exceeded on all works.
Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system.
Liaise with clients and other staff.
Respond to client and customer requests and enquiries and ensuring that their needs are met
The ideal candidate:
Professional Qualification - Chartered Engineer and/or Member of professional institution.
Alternative consideration shall be given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
Demonstrable experience and a proven track record of success in operational delivery to Local Authority and private clients.
Experience of successfully managing and delivering multidiscipline projects.
Proactive, self-motivated, and problem solver.
Team leader, worker, and motivator.
Excellent Financial Acumen in both project cost control and works estimates.
Ability to deliver on time whilst handling multiple projects/tasks.
Ability to communicate at all levels with excellent oral/written/numeracy skills.
Sound computer literacy (including experience of CAD and MS Project)
