Our well established and innovative manufacturing client based in Corby are looking for a Design Project Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for managing projects from design to manufacture.

You must be motivated with excellent communication skills; you'll be responsible for a team of 2 Mechanical Design Engineers, encouraging collaboration between departments to ensure the process is as smooth as possible and that timescales are met.

You'll undertake procurement, process and resource planning for each project and will organise the design team through a project-based focus on throughput of new products.

As Design Project Manager, your duties will include:

Innovation of new designs, machinery and new markets.
Responsible for a team of 2 Mechanical Design Engineers
Manage projects through design, testing and into production.
Defining production processes.
Timelining the release of products.
Sort process sequences.
Estimate each process timing.
Develop and maintain a schedule for production and testing.
Handover to sales outlining the specification of the final product.
Critically analyse and assess project risk, this will be based on feasibility studies. Through proposed products and design ideas from the sales manager and the board of directors.
Monitor progress and performance of each project as it moves through the shop floor and testing stages.
Critical thinking to overcome problems that may occur in the lifecycle of a project.

Ideally, you will have the following skills/experience:

Background in Mechanical Engineering is essential
Innovative and able to think outside the box
Excellent communication skills
Strong project management skills

Competitive basic salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. There's free parking, contributory pension scheme and a supportive team environment.

The working hours are 7am -4.30 Monday - Thursday and 7am-12pm on a Friday
