Student Welfare Officer

* Secondary School
* Based in Westminster
* Full-time

Empowering Learning are recruiting Student Welfare Officer to work on a full-time basis and responsible for the first-aid arrangements in the school and the health care of pupils while at school.

You will be supporting and assisting the school nurse and other teams. Conducting medical examinations, testing, supervise sick and injured pupils, contacting parents if necessary. you will also work with individuals and groups of pupils on health-related issues through self-referral, drop-in sessions, peer training and proactive work on sex education and health-related issues as directed by the Vice Principal, Behaviour and Inclusion team.

* Comfortable supporting pupils with various needs
* Ability to engage with pupils and parents
* Assist with personal care if needed
* Supervising children's behaviour when under your supervision

Job Requirements

* Experience of supporting children or young adults with medical needs
* Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
* Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
* First Aid Trained
