This role is inside IR35 scope
Your responsibility will be to:
Carry out designs of a variety of Mechanical Engineering solutions. This can range from optioneering studies for moving radiological equipment, detail engineering of mechanical equipment, plant layout, specification of package plant equipment.
Work with and assist other Senior Mechanical & Electrical Engineers together with other members of a multi-discipline design team.
Produce estimates and programmes for input to projects.
Liaise with clients and other design disciplines, attending internal and external meetings.
Produce briefs, specifications, and take a role in the review and checking of design drawings.
Undertaking of survey work.
Write technical reports and produce detailed calculationsReporting to the local Mechanical Head of Discipline or Project Lead
Qualification to Degree Standard in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge.
Knowledge and experience of UK regulations is essential
Working knowledge of Autodesk Products (Autocad, Inventor, RECAP) plus other 3D systems (Navisworks, PDMS)
Stress modelling experience would be an advantage.
An appreciation of quality assurance and business management.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients.
An enquiring approach with a desire to explore innovative ideas whilst still understanding the need for a good commercial balance
Must be of smart appearance with a professional attitude and enthusiastic
Being able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Good report writing skills, with good overall MS Office experience.
Available to travel short term in UK.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent. (Senior)
C Eng / MI Mech E / (Senior)
Minimum 10 years experience (Senior) or 5 Years (Engineer) relevant post-graduate engineering experience
15 Years (Senior) or 10 years (Engineer) experience of Mechanical Engineering and Design in the Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or Process Industries
A detailed understanding of associated legal and legislative requirements.
A working knowledge of Nuclear Containment.
