LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a well-established market leader within the Energy from Waste industry.Due to expansion there is now an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Shift Team Leader to join their growing team.
Role & Responsibilities
·Responsible for a 7MW power generation site in Dudley.
·Lead the shift team ensuring safe and efficient operation of the plant via a DCS including boiler plant, steam turbine, generators, flue gas treatment plant and their associated systems.
·Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for day to day management of the Operations Team and the safe and efficient operation of the plant
·Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
·Managing the sites safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as an Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching and carrying out isolations (preferably with experience up to 33kv)
·Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work
·Providing effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties, this includes reviews and personal l Development Plans
·Working on outage planning (and assisting during outages), plant improvement projects and plant optimisation projects
·Working within the Company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
·A relevant technical qualification such as an ONC/HNC/HNC/Degree in an engineering discipline
·At least 4 years' experience operating high-pressure boilers and steam turbine plants on a power station with Supervisory experience. This could be Energy from Waste, Coal, CCGT, Biomass, CHP or Nuclear.
·IOSH or NEBOSH
·Senior Authorised Persons Status or experience with High Voltage equipment would be an added bonus
·Proven Experience of managing a team is essential.
·Experience of using, and qualifications in the use of ForkLift Truck (FLT) vehicles advantageous.
·Ability to work at height and manage confined spaces/restricted entry, supported with relevant training and experience of competency.
·City and Guilds qualification of small thermal power plant would be desirable.
·A current first aid qualification would be desirable.
·Experience of carrying out essential maintenance would be desirable.
·High Voltage authorised person electrical experience and qualifications would be desirable.
Shift Pattern: 2 Day Shifts, 2 Night Shifts, 4 Rest Days, etc. (Each shift is 12 hours)
