The Company

"We Are Pioneers in Wireless Digital Technology"

Internexus (IX) is a telecoms code operator and is currently undertaking the development and roll-out of a national fixed wireless network. This network is unlike anything that is currently being rolled-out in the UK. IX is delivering wireless connections to a potential target of 4 million homes in the North-West and the Midlands. The infrastructure delivers connectivity via transmitters mounted on rooftops, telecommunication masts, monopoles and street poles. Our fixed wireless network delivers bandwidth through the air to the premises without the disruption and cost of traditional ground fibre schemes.

Part time Consultant Telecoms Engineer 2 Days per week

We are deploying CCTV poles, cabinets, telegraph poles, and fibre cable across the North West and as such we need engineers who previously worked on the installation of wooden poles when they were first installed. The role is part time and the post holder will work on a purely consultative basis, providing advice on the tensions and loading of cables and working with ground staff and head office to ensure safe and efficient execution of all projects.

We need someone who can consult on a technical level and who understands the processes behind building the network. This person would be available to advise on various issues that we face with overhead fibre on Wooden Poles, in conjunction with some underground fibre.

The type of advice we would be looking for is;

Optimum Distances between the poles

General Design Queries

Methods of installation of Catenary wires

When to use different types of equipment such as a ground anchor.

Requirements
  • Previously worked for BT (or another provider) facilitating the erection of wooden telegraph poles
  • Able to evaluate projects and provide documentation and manuals to guide operational staff
  • Have a full UK licence
  • Ability to communicate professionally to internal and external clients and representatives
