UK BIM Manager
Blackburn or Bristol
We are looking to recruit a BIM Manager will oversee and support Project Wide BIM delivery (across multi-disciplines) and play a lead role in developing BIM Capability for the UK organisation to meet the needs of a wide range of marquee customers.
Assystem is a pioneer in developing digital solutions for the engineering environment, specialising in highly regulated industries and is the second largest Nuclear Engineering Consultancy worldwide. As part of our wider Group strategy 'Engineering Powered by Digital', we are seeking someone who really wants to challenge themselves and work at the forefront of digital technology within an engineering context. It is also important that you understand the software capabilities of the business and how to introduce and implement new software efficiently and effectively.
We are seeking a strong team player who can work with colleagues at all levels across multi-functional teams with an exceptional attention to detail as well as an innovative and flexible attitude to solving engineering solutions. To be considered for this role, you will have extensive experience working in computer aided modelling in mechanical or civil domains, with experience or qualifications to match. It will also prove beneficial if you can demonstrate experience of design co-ordination, 4D sequencing, design team integration and support.
At Assystem, we see BIM as the co-ordination of separate workflows, Digital Construction, and Information Management. One of the primary responsibilities will be contributing to information management by establishing standards for information exchange, models, and execution plans.
Whilst a BIM manager will not have any design responsibilities, they should have (at least) a basic understanding of the modelling process. We expect the candidate to have above average IT skills and the ability to use multiple software disciplines as they will be expected to "drive" the BIM model during project meetings.
Already working in a BIM leadership role, we would expect that you would bring a good network of both colleagues and partners to enhance the Assystem offering. You will be a self-starter who is keen to develop integrated design practices in Assystem's markets
Knowledge of the Quality Management System and Data Management process workflow is extremely useful as BIM Managers may be expected to assist with the creation and maintenance of Common Data Environments (CDE's).
Outstanding communication skills are essential as we expect the successful candidate to work collaboratively with customers, in-house teams, and members of the supply chain. This may include suppliers, consultants, contractors, the Project Delivery Team, Commercial and Legal Teams.
Regular travel will be required to main project offices and project sites to interact with customers, colleagues, contractors, and consultants
