Teaching Personnel are working with a variety of primary schools situated in the St Austell area of Cornwall, who are seeking confident and experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
We are seeking to register high quality Teaching Assistants who have a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN/SEMH. You should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the complex issues and co-morbidities associated with ASD such as ADHD, Attachment Disorder etc.
To be the secure person for designated student/s by supervising and providing particular support, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Develop a holistic approach to meeting Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, enabling learners to make good progress by working with teachers, other support staff, families and external agencies.
Use detailed knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social Emotional and Mental Health needs, coupled with high quality skills, to support students' educational progress and attainment.
Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities, providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment
The successful applicant will provide support to the class teacher towards the academic and social education of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or Social and Emotional Mental Health needs. You will be responsible for a student/s inside and outside the classroom environment delivering intervention programmes to individuals and small groups.
You should be compassionate and be able to deploy a wide range of interpersonal skills, together with strong behaviour management. It is essential you are able to work using your own initiative, under pressure to achieve quality work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
