ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Suffolk
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000- £42,000 per annum dependent on experience (Please advise what you're looking for)

My client design and manufacture a variety of high precision products for various sectors, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Suffolk area.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design preferred
2 years' or more experience in a high-tech Engineering / Manufacturing / Process / Product Development environment working with electronic or optoelectronic related assemblies and components
Be proficient with using 3D CAD software - Creo / Pro E preferred but others will be considered such as SolidWorks
Be proficient with using MS Office
Be able to pay close attention to detail
Good knowledge of different production processes, machining, plastic moulding and other manufacturing techniques
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Able to work well alone as well as part of a team
Any fibre optic systems experience would be desirable not essentialThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Being involved in the design and development process of brand-new products
Creating both component and assembly drawings using Creo CAD software
Designing jigs and fixtures that are required for manufacturing processes
Defining the correct BOM's
Participating in the development work relating to prototypes
