Your new role

An independent special school in Leicestershire which caters for learners aged 11-18 are seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated Science Teacher. This is a permanent position with an immediate start, full time or part time hours can be considered.

The school which is based in a rural location caters for learners who struggle to access mainstream education. The school offers specialist education and care for learners with complex needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. As well as core lessons, students have the chance to participate in a variety of vocational lessons and engage in outdoor pursuits.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver Science to learners on a 1:1 or small group basis. You will plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that can be differentiated to meet the abilities of each learner. You will utilise LSA support to ensure that the best level of care and education is provided to learners. You will follow the schools' policies regarding safeguarding and behaviour to ensure a safe learning environment for all.

What you'll need to succeed

For this role, you will be a qualified Teacher or an experienced Instructor. You will ideally hold a degree in a Science subject and have recent experience of delivering Science lessons up to GCSE level. You will be confident in your ability to teach learners with Special Educational Needs which may include Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. You will be an enthusiastic Teacher who is committed to getting the best results for your students. You will be able to work as part of a team to best meet the needs of the students.
