Job purpose: To manage and develop a range of thriving inclusive services that support children, young people and young adults with disabilities and their families, helping them to belong contribute and thrive within East Surrey

Main responsibilities

1. To be responsible for the strategic management of all aspects of Inclusive Youth Projects and West Sussex and Surrey Short Break contracts, ensuring all contractual requirements are met

1. To provide line management for a team of professional staff and to ensure that appropriate procedures are in place to properly support staff, to carry out safe recruitment, to carry out performance management (where needed) and to offer professional supervision

1. To be responsible for identifying and developing new services and activities that meet the needs of families and young people with disabilities within East Surrey, West Sussex and beyond

1. To actively seek further funding and service development opportunities beyond East Surrey and West Sussex to offer a range of inclusive services to communities and geographic areas new to East Surrey

1. To work with the HCYP, Head of Finance and Central Services (HFCS), HR Manager and Facilities Manager to ensure that all necessary policies and procedures relating to work with families, children and young people are up to date and adhered to, particularly in areas such as employment legislation, health and safety, safeguarding and child protection.

1. To work with the CEO, HFCS and Finance Manager to agree an annual budget for Inclusive Services and to manage this budget taking care to allocate resources efficiently to ensure value for money throughout all areas

1. To facilitate and support a Youth Forum of representative young people that can advise staff on the needs of young people with dsabilities and provide relevant feedback to ensure that services are appropriate and co-produced

1. To work with the Marketing Manager to ensure that inclusive services are marketed effectively and to oversee the production of publicity materials and the use of advertising, promotions, web site and social media

1. To represent at the Short Breaks Play & Lesisure Consortium and at other external events and to deliver presentations about the company (and in particular the work of the Inclusive Services) to relevant groups in the community. To also attend relevant regional or national meetings and events where requested by the CEO or Head of Services for Children and Young People (HCYP)

1. To work with the CEO, the HCYP and the Fundraising Team to identify and secure new contracts and grants that will enable the development of new programme to meet the needs of families, children and young people with disabilities

1. To work with Fundraising and Development Manager and HCYP to identify funding opportunities and to write high quality funding bids, PQQs and ITTs

1. To assist with other fundraising activity such as community fundraising and to work with the Challenge Team to help stage events to ensure the financial viability and development of inclusive family, children and youth activities and services

1. To assist with the development of new services and activities that promote employability and support young people with disabilites into education, employment and training such as the Lifeworks programme, youth training, volunteering, apprenticeships and social enterprise activities

1. To provide regular written reports to the HCYP as required on the progress of all inclusive activities and to present reports and feedback to various committees involved in the governance and strategic direction of the projects including; Children and Young People Services Advisory Group, and the Board of Management

1. To monitor and evaluate inclusive services work by collecting statistical data and carrying out regular consultation with young people and other stakeholders. To use this information to evaluate the effectiveness of services and improve what is offered

1. To oversee the management of various evalution tools such as the Outcome Stars and to work with colleagues to ensure that systems are in place to collect appropriate evidence that can quantify impact of services on families, children and young people with disabilities. To produce monitoring information and reports to fulfil funders requirements

1. To build relationships with Commissioners and other key decision makers within Surrey County Council, borough and district councils, West Sussex County Council, schools and other partner agencies to extend services and improve quality of provision for local children, young people with disabilities and their families

1. To ensure that the health and safety of all families, children, young people, staff and volunteers is properly addressed and enforced through appropriate policies and procedures including risk assessments for all areas and activities. Also to take the lead on child protection/safeguarding issues within inclusive services

1. To attend and participate in relevant meetings and forums such as Family Voice and the Short Breaks network in Surrey and West Sussex involving agencies working with families and young people, both locally and within Surrey and extending to wider networks

1. With the Facilities Manager to put in place systems to ensure that Sovereign Centre is properly managed on a day to day basis especially with regard to security, fire safety and evacuation procedures, health and safety and reporting of maintenance issues as approproriate
