Michael Page have partnered with an outstanding industrial business. An established expert residing at the forefront of their field whose client base include industrial giants and a vast array of smaller customers who demand their expertly engineered industrial products.

Out of their base in Scarborough, they are looking to expand their engineering capability by bringing in a new Solidworks Design Engineer to assist with implementing the vision of growth.

Description

As the Solidworks Design Engineer, you will be required to understand and contribute towards the design of new and bespoke products, communicating at every level of the business in order to ensure productivity, safety and application.

This role presents the opportunity to face customers while working in tandem with technical sales, project management and production to ensure the cost effective and timely delivery of products.

This role presents the opportunity to apply problem solving skills to developing and improving on designs, considering machinability, materials, cost effectiveness and safety.

This is a key position within a growing team. As a result you must be comfortable in your role and understand your influence on the bigger picture of this SME's story.

The Successful Solidworks Design Engineer for this role must:

Hold as a minimum a HNC, though a degree would be preferred, within a suitable field (Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing/Design/Structural/Civil)
Be able to demonstrate previous experience in the design of complex engineered products. Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles such as torque, hydraulics, stress and strain and solid mechanics is vital.
Experience using Solidworks to create accurate 3D models, easy to understand 2D production drawings is essential.
Previous experience utilising the in-built FEA analysis package within Solidworks would be highly advantageous.

This is a full time office based position, as the design team are in regular contact with the shop floor. All social distancing procedures are being adhered to and you will find a welcoming team when you start.
