System Test Engineer - Dorset - £30,000 - £35,000 (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

A reputable manufacturer of high technology special purpose machinery is seeking to employ a System Test Engineer, initially for a 12 month fixed term with the potential for extension, within their Dorset based engineering facility.

Working within a low - medium volume, complex engineering environment, the successful System Test Engineer will be responsible for determining and performing system testing on company products, including those supplied through third parties.

Other responsibilities include involvement in requirement specification reviews and converting them into checklists and test suites, as well as verifying the delivery scope has been delivered to in line with design specification, requirements specification and the fulfillment of intended purpose. Alongside this, the successful System Test Engineer will act as Test Expert, liaising directly with internal customers during the consultation process for new or existing projects with proposals to meet the delivery expectations.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have experience of engineering testing within a relevant engineering environment. It would be advantageous to be ISQTB or CAT qualified, as it would be to have experience with defect databases i.e. Jira or TFS as well as an understanding of such models of software development cycles as Waterfall or Agile.

This opportunity is based in Dorset and is commutable from Dorchester, Weymouth, Portland, Poole, Lyme Regis, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Swanage, Yeovil, Blandford Forum, and other locations within the Dorset region.
