System Verification Test Engineer's role (contract) would be to work within NPD (new product development) and sustainable activities to manage the planning, set-up, testing and reporting of the verification activities. In addition, this role will provide technical support & expertise in areas of competence

Key responsibilities:

* Planning, execution and reporting system and verification activities for key NPI (New Product Introduction) and sustainability projects

* Understand specification/requirements and interpret acceptance criteria and derive suitable tests accordingly

* Design and develop test set-ups including maintainability, reliability and conforming to relevant safety standards

* Be an active member of NPI teams to contribute to overall project success, reporting on test progress and escalation of issues

* Become familiar with test management systems, e.g. Helix™ for managing test cases and issues

* Lead testing activities to support engineering/R&D investigations from root cause identification, through to supporting design engineers in the implementation of sound engineering solutions

* Prepare equipment specifications and orders to maintain in-house test equipment and control its use (equipment log/diary)

* Assist in generating testing policies, procedures and standards

* Contribute and advise on upstream verification tools and methodologies to minimise defects escaping to downstream development and test stages

Essential skills:

* Proven experience of testing of embedded systems comprising analogue, mixed signal and embedded software components and electro-mechanical systems

* Ability to write test protocols/test cases for new products derived from product requirements

* Understanding of electrical safety and EMC/ESD/Product safety and reliability

* Experience of reporting and presenting test data/results to peers and immediate management

* Awareness /basic understanding of regulatory bodies and product certification

* Self-starter and ability to progress with assigned tasks with minimal supervision to deadline

* Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

* Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an engineering/technical discipline

Desirable Qualifications:

* Formal/professional qualification in testing (e.g. ISTQB/ISEB Certified Advanced or Expert Tester)
