Role: Domestic Violence Worker

Based: Middlesbrough

Salary: £11 - 13 ph (dependent on experience)

Length: 2 months ongoing

Start: Immediate

Our client, a specialist charity supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence, is looking to recruit a Domestic Violence Worker on a 2 month ongoing basis.

The role is full time and will be part based from home and part based in their office in Middlesbrough.

Duties:

Supporting clients affected by domestic violence in the community, over the phone and through drop in support
Assessing referrals, inducting clients to service and handling resettlement duties
Setting up and reviewing safety plans, support plans and carrying out risks and needs assessments
Completing CAADA DASH RIC assessment and where necessary referring clients to IDVA services and MARAC
You will be supporting victims with all additional practical needs including housing, benefits, financial, immigration, custody, legal etc
Liaising with partner agencies and specialist services including legal services, social services, the NHS, MH and SM charities, Victim Support, CJS, DWP and the Council's Housing and Benefit departments
Supporting clients in benefit, grants and loan applications
Advising on all aspects of housing and tenancy management and assisting with tenancy sustainment and income maximization (i.e. advising on arrears and available benefits)

Essential Requirements:

Current enhanced DBS
Experience of supporting victims of domestic violence
Experience of providing both practical and emotional support to vulnerable clients
