The successful candidate will be a member of a team of over 300 academic and business support staff.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Head of Department for Construction who will be responsible for the management and development of our multi-discipline, multi-site Construction department consisting of Construction and the Built Environment and Civil Engineering and Groundworks.

You will be required to manage teaching, learning and assessment activities, develop and enhance the curriculum and ensure all provision delivered by the department and College partners is delivered to the highest standard. You will be required to line manage all departmental academic and curriculum support staff, plan and develop the curriculum in line with effective resourcing models, conduct teaching, learning and assessment observations and complete staff appraisals for direct line reports.

In addition to a recent proven record of success in a similar role and relevant professional, technical and business experience, you will need to hold a relevant degree and/or management qualification and an advanced professional qualification in a construction/civil engineering/groundworks trade, a teaching qualification, Assessor/Verifier Awards and have successful proven experience of managing Apprenticeship provision.
