A great opportunity to practice your application development and support skills across both Microsoft and Oracle based systems in a leading UK education company.

The position is home based in the UK and is a great opportunity for self starters who like being able to manage their own time and priorities. The ideal candidate will probably come from a development background and have both breadth and depth in coding, scripting, databases and www services as well as strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop existing skillsets across Microsoft, Oracle and MySQL platforms.

You will be joining a talented IT team of DBA's and developers in an outcome focused and flexible working environment.

The Application Support Analyst will: -

- Own and manage the 3rd line application support and maintenance work required to maintain and enhance 25+ business applications
- Diagnose, analyse and rectify software/database/services problems across multiple platforms
- Undertake ad hoc application development and scripting work
- Work with DBA's, software developers, 2nd line analysts and vendors to ensure that all systems are deployed, tested and maintained
- Ensure quality of applications in terms of performance, integration integrity and data quality
- Participate in technology and business systems projects

Candidate Pre-requisites: -
Ideally you must have: -

- Extensive experience working as an Applications Support Analyst/Developer in a corporate environment, ideally supporting and developing in both Microsoft and Oracle technologies
- Microsoft SQL Server (2008/16)
- OOP languages including Java, .net & c#
- Scripting - JavaScript, VBscript
- Oracle (8i, 10g, 11g) and strong PL/SQL
- Web Servers - IIS & Apache
- Web Services - ReSt and SOAP
- Windows server and Linux

Ideally you would also have:
- MS Visual Studio and Oracle Developer
- Intermediate level experience of MySQL
- Exposure to IT frameworks such as ITIL
