The Network Design Authority will be the network lead within Modern Networks responsible for leading network architecture and design. The role will include but is not limited to;

*

Designing network solutions

*

Designing and launching new network & security services

*

Developing Modern Networks ISP core network

*

Act as a senior escalation for network related incidents

*

Mentor and train networking staff

*

Work with the CTO on network & security strategy

*

Measure, monitor and report on key metrics such as availability, capacity & security

The successful candidate will be expected to have demonstrable, proven network architecture experience and excellent consulting skills. They will have achieved recognized industry accreditations and will likely possess a combination of the following:

*

Cisco CCIE Service Provider

*

Cisco CCNP Service Provider

*

Juniper JNCIE

*

Juniper JNCIP

Relevant Experience:

*

Cisco or Juniper routing

*

In depth knowledge of IGP/EGP routing (EBGP, IBGP, OSPF), MPLS/IP VPN, SIP provisioning

*

Firewall Solutions (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto or Juniper)

*

Remote access technologies/VPN (Cisco ASA) using SSL, IPsec

*

Switching (Cisco Catalyst and Nexus)

*

Load Balancing (F5)

*

Experienced in the design of WAN/ISP environments

*

WAN (MPLS, CPE & Exchange design)

*

Network security solutions

Attributes for the Technical Lead:

*

Be able to translate customer business and technology requirements that can vary in detail, and produce high quality network solutions, at both high and low levels of detail.

*

A quick learner who is adaptable and able to communicate and work well as part of a team

*

Self motivated individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical audiences.

*

Provide input and leadership to other technical teams and a level of "cross-functional" technical knowledge is highly desirable.

*

Actively contribute to continual service delivery improvement and a willingness to get stuck in

*

Act as a SME and mentor to other network engineering staff
