This is a full time 10PA post, split equally between the Redbridge Access and Assessment/ Brief Intervention Service and the Redbridge EIP team.

The Redbridge Access and Assessment/ Brief Intervention Service is at the interface of Primary and Secondary Care Mental Health Services. The Service accepts referrals for adults from 18 to 65 years of age. Sources of referral include Primary care, the Intake & Home treatment teams, Inpatient wards, Psychiatric liaison Service at King George's Hospital and Forensic services. GPs can also re refer patients who had been previously under the care of the Community Recovery Service. Referrals are discussed in dedicated referral meetings and those who meet criteria for the Service are accepted into the Service. We are a progressive service that provides a full MDT service providing assessment of mental health conditions and offer treatment options based on bio psycho-social lines over 6months to 1 year. All patients are offered core and risk assessments and then offered a comprehensive treatment package that is fully linked with the community resources and group-based care. Our patients are not on CPA engagement though they may be key worked. The service is linked closely to the CRT and EIP services at Mellmead House where referrals are directly made. We have a team caseload of 800 patients though these patients are shared in the team. We have leads in nursing, OT and Social Care and we discuss all clients through a RAG service in the weekly Zoning meeting on Wednesdays. We are closely affiliated to the CRT Teams and we hold specialist Well-being Clinics (to cater for non-CPA Depot clients), and Physical Health Clinics for patients with SMI.

Referrals to EIP mainly come from GPs, the Access Team, CAMHS, the inpatient unit and the home treatment team. The team has a 2-week Referral to Treatment Target (RTT) and takes part in physical health CQUINs. Team doctors are involved in assessing and providing advice about accepting referrals, allocating care coordinators, performing CPA reviews, medical reviews, home visits to patients, mental health act assessments, doing CTO tribunal reports, attending mental health review tribunals, professionals meetings and in making decisions about discharging patients from EIP. They regularly attend multidisciplinary team zoning meetings. The team caseload is about 145 to 150 patients approximately. All patients are on CPA.
