We are a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England and are looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities that we serve.

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us to do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.

Sussex Partnership is an equal opportunities employer, with a sincere commitment to our people's health and emotional wellbeing and as such, we have signed the Time to Change pledge and provide a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.

In addition, our workforce is currently under-represented by people from Black and Minority Ethnic and Disabled communities. We welcome applications from people of these communities as we want our workforce to reflect the communities we serve.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated our services good, following their most recent inspection, and outstanding in the caring domain.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides health and social care services across a variety of care settings in and across Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and Medway, and London. We aim to realise the potential of everyone who uses its services and to enable staff and bank workers to do a great job; we believe great things are possible if we never give up.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services across Sussex, Kent and Hampshire. We treat over 100,000 patients per year, and employ 5000 staff. We are seeking to appoint a Christian chaplain to join our team, in this demanding but hugely rewarding role, to serve in the Mid Sussex region.

We are looking to appoint a spiritual support lead to join our Spirituality Team at Sussex Partnership Trust. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to further their vocation to mental health chaplaincy. This 1 day per week (7.5 hour) appointment will be based in the hospitals at St Leonards-on-Sea (Woodlands Centre for Acute Care and St Raphael Ward), but some work will involve supporting service users in the community and liaising with faith communities.

You will be:
. A person with experience of spirituality and mental health and the interaction between the two
. A person of patience, warmth and hope
. A team player, capable of initiative and independence
. Happy to work alongside people of all faiths and none to offer person-centered care
. A champion of Equality and Human Rights.
- A person with lived experience of spirituality

Experience within mental healthcare, or a similar environment is not essential. Training will be given to support the new spiritual support lead in his or her work. You will be working with people across the age spectrum, some of whom will be in hospital for long periods.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 13th November 2020 at Woodlands Centre for Acute Care, The Ridge, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 7PT.

An Enhanced DBS will be required.

We regret that we are unable to advise candidates if they have not been shortlisted. If you have not heard from us within three weeks of the closing date please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

In the event of an excessive number of applicants the Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy earlier than indicated.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust takes its responsibilities for the safeguarding and protection of children and young people and vulnerable adults very seriously and expects this of all its employees and bank workers. The Trust works with adult and children's social care to ensure that the integrated service has systems in place to equip staff and bank workers with the knowledge and skills to recognize abuse, and take action to safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and children and young people. It is expected that all staff and bank workers familiarise themselves with the appropriate structures and policies and with the Sussex child protection and safeguarding procedures and the Sussex multi-agency policy and procedures for safeguarding vulnerable adults and undertake the relevant essential training and further training appropriate to their role.

All successful candidates are offered salaries at the bottom of the relevant salary range unless previous or equivalent NHS experience in a similar role can be demonstrated and evidenced
