Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Following an NHSI initiative to establish 29 Pathology networks across England the University Hospital of North Midlands is currently working closely with Mid and East Cheshire NHS Trusts to establish a Pathology network across Staffordshire and Cheshire.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join the Children & Young People's Continuing Care Team.

The Children's Continuing Care Team is dedicated to supporting children and young people with complex medical needs. We provide high quality care to children and young people within South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

Health Care Assistants provide skilled care to support these families, which is often a 1:1 with the child; these will include a variety of shifts, including day, evening and nightshifts in the home and in other community settings.
  • Do you have an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care/Child Care or have experience of working with children and young people with complex health needs?
  • Are you passionate about providing high quality, flexible care for children and families to support them to manage their day to day lives?
  • Would you like to learn new clinical care skills including tracheostomy, gastrostomy and jejenostomy care, Oxygen therapy and more?
  • Do you have good communication skills, are reliable and are flexible as working hours may vary on a week-to-week basis.

You will be offered bespoke competency based training as well as NHS mandatory training relevant to your role. Support will be provided by registered nurses and experienced Health Care Assistants so that you gain the knowledge and skills required to care for these children.
