An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Equipment Management Department as Medical Device Maintenance Support worker to assist in the provision of reusable, non-complex medical device management services, including:
  • Collection, delivery & turnaround checks on equipment library stock
  • Planned Maintenance & repair of a limited range of non-complex medical devices
  • Condemnation of medical devices
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Trust-wide Resuscitation/Sepsis Schemes
  • Complete the MEMD Induction and on-going Medical Device specific competency programme

You must be enthusiastic and able to absorb a good level of knowledge and gain a broad experience in regards to maintenance of medical equipment

You will contribute to the Clinical/Technical services of MEMD including planned maintenance, supporting repair and acceptance and condemnation. Knowledge and skills applied to medical equipment will include:

• Acceptance Testing
• PPM
• Electrical Safety Testing
• Electrical and Mechanical hand tools
• Fault finding
• Planned Preventive Maintenance
• Computer Technology
• Use of Test Equipment

You will need good communication/Interpersonal skills, commensurate with effective team working and basic Numeracy & Literacy skills and have experience of maintenance and repairs of a limited range of non-complex medical electrical/electronic/mechanical devices.

You will have the opportunity of progression of the appropriate MEMD competence profile or equivalent and will need to attend manufacturers training courses for non-complex medical devices.

The Department provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service for the Trust. The successful applicant will work to the Department's Quality System, which is registered via the British Standards Institution to ISO 9001:2008.
