Clinical Nurse Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hospital Palliative Care Team at Portsmouth Hospital Trust. This well established service provides specialist holistic support to adults with life limiting illness and to those approaching end of life within the acute setting.

We welcome applications from those with a flexible, self-motivated and dynamic approach to individualised patient care. In return we will provide support, education, and opportunities for professional development. We currently have a band 6 position based in the hospital palliative care team and we are looking to recruit applicants who are willing to make a positive impact with a can do attitude.

Candidates will be considered for a Band 6 developing into a Band 7 role (both job descriptions are attached).

The successful applicant will have extensive post registration clinical experience; including evidence of continued professional development in palliative/end of life care. They should be able to demonstrate knowledge/skills in palliative and end of life care and hold a Non Medical prescribing qualification. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and have a confidence to educate and engage with all staff groups. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to work in a team and independently.

The post holder will be required to be flexible to the needs of the service. Currently we provide a five day a week service and anticipate this will expand into a seven day service. Opportunities will be available to contribute to professional, personal and service development.

It is recommended that any interested applicants make contact for further information about this exciting role within a fantastic team.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
