Clinical Nurse Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hospital Palliative Care Team at Portsmouth Hospital Trust. This well established service provides specialist holistic support to adults with life limiting illness and to those approaching end of life within the acute setting.

We welcome applications from those with a flexible, self-motivated and dynamic approach to individualised patient care. In return we will provide support, education, and opportunities for professional development. We currently have a band 6 position based in the hospital palliative care team and we are looking to recruit applicants who are willing to make a positive impact with a can do attitude.

Candidates will be considered for a Band 6 developing into a Band 7 role (both job descriptions are attached).

The successful applicant will have extensive post registration clinical experience; including evidence of continued professional development in palliative/end of life care. They should be able to demonstrate knowledge/skills in palliative and end of life care and hold a Non Medical prescribing qualification. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and have a confidence to educate and engage with all staff groups. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to work in a team and independently.

The post holder will be required to be flexible to the needs of the service. Currently we provide a five day a week service and anticipate this will expand into a seven day service. Opportunities will be available to contribute to professional, personal and service development.
