We have an opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our innovative and expanding Gastroenterology Nursing Team on a fixed term contract or secondment to cover maternity leave for 9 months. The ANP will form part of a multi-disciplinary ward based professional team, providing gastroenterology and medical services within the adult acute care setting supporting both gastroenterology inpatient and outpatients.

You will be expected to practice autonomously at an advanced level in the delivery of high quality, safe and supportive care to patients, undertaking advanced patient assessment, intervention and treatment for patients as an independent practitioner. Support and development will be available from within the medical specialty and there will be close working with a number of Consultantsand Gastroenterology Specialist Nursing Team.

You will be expected to have skills and knowledge in general medicine and a clinical knowledge of gastroenterology is desirable, but not essential.You will have completed an Advanced Health Assessment qualification and have ideally completed or be working towards the Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. You will be able to manage your own workload, have advanced decision making skills, be committed to innovative practice.

This is a full-time post working currently week days only although some future weekend working may be required.
