Band 3 Ophthalmic Scientific Technician - Fixed Term Contract (6 to 12 months fixed term, Maternity Leave Cover)

Band 3 - £22,361-£24,107 per annum (incl of HCAA)

Ophthalmology Imaging Department has a vacancy for a Band 3 Ophthalmic Science Technician at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals together with community clinics and the post holder will be expected support in the new unit. We are seeking experienced, highly motivated and proactive individuals to work with the current team of Ophthalmology team.

The Ophthalmic Science Technician will support the Ophthalmic Imaging Unit and outpatient teams for the provision and overall smooth running of our clinical services. This will involve data entry, visual field testing, OCT, digital retinal imaging; along with the general personal care and support of the patient. You will have responsibility for preparing our patients and undertaking their investigations, performing a range of basic imaging tests and procedures as well as providing the reports and baseline evaluations for review by other clinical staff.

A comprehensive ophthalmology service is provided by Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists, Optometrists, Ophthalmic trained nurses with general and speciality clinics including Paediatrics, Ocular-motility, Botulinum Toxin, AMD, Diabetic, Glaucoma, Medical Retinal, Oculoplastic and Corneal.

Willingness to work across sites is essential.
